Role description

The post holder will contribute towards the School’s IT Service, by providing:

· Timely end user support for technical issues relating to hardware or software across several different platforms.

· Input into the development of any new ways of working or systems to help improve student learning and improve staff workload.

· Deploy new and maintain existing hardware and software.


Main duties:


· Act as a contact point for IT support requests from staff and students

· Setup and provide maintenance for software and hardware.

· Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve, or escalate where appropriate, issues affecting on-premises and cloud-based technologies.

· Assist with the management of access for students and staff to IT resources and services.

· Provide support and guidance to staff.

· Assist the IT Team to ensure local and cloud-based systems are up to date, secure and efficient across the school.

· To be aware of and assume the appropriate level of responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and to report any concerns in accordance with the college’s safeguarding policies. We expect all staff to share this commitment and to undergo appropriate checks, including an enhanced DBS.

· To place the safeguarding of all children in the school/college as the highest priority

· To comply with legislation, policies and procedures relating to confidentiality and data protection, reporting any concerns to the appropriate person

· To work in compliance with the codes of conduct, regulations and policies of the school/college and its commitment to equal opportunities

· To comply with the Trust’s Health & Safety policy and statutory requirements as detailed in the Health & Safety at Work manual.

· To undertake training and personal development as and when identified by Line Manager.

· To undertake any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Head of IT and Digital.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Demonstrable interest in information technology and digital systems.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, software and operating systems.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365 applications.

  • Able to demonstrate an interest in technology through
  • study, hobbies, projects or personal use.
  • Experience with Windows devices, Chromebooks or Apple devices.
  • Basic understanding of Mobile Device Management solutions eg Intune, Apple School Manager
  • Basic understanding of computer networks and internet technologies.
  • Awareness of cybersecurity and safe use of technology

Qualifications required

Maths and English at grade 4 or above or equivalent.
