A higher apprenticeship takes you past A-Level standard into professional-level work, while staying employed and paid. Level 4 is the entry point into higher-level technical and professional careers.

Common questions
What's the difference between higher and degree apprenticeships?
Higher apprenticeships run from Level 4 upwards. Once you reach Level 6 you're earning a full bachelor's degree, which is what people usually mean by a degree apprenticeship.
Do I pay tuition fees?
No. Your employer and the government cover the training costs, so you finish without student debt.
