Why childcare?

Early years is a regulated profession with real qualification requirements, and settings depend on qualified staff. An apprenticeship is the standard way in and leads to recognised Level 2 and 3 early years qualifications.

Common questions

Do I need a DBS check?

Yes — everyone working with children does, and your employer will arrange it.

What qualification will I get?

Usually the Early Years Practitioner (Level 2) or Early Years Educator (Level 3) standard, both recognised across the sector.
