Westmead Kennels and Cattery seeks a motivated apprentice to join their team and gain valuable hands-on experience in a lively animal care environment. This presents a fantastic opportunity to embark on a career in animal care, with the potential to advance to a Level 3 apprenticeship upon successful completion. The selected candidate will be tasked with walking and exercising dogs, feeding and caring for dogs and cats, cleaning kennels, catteries, and animal accommodations, upholding high standards of hygiene and animal welfare, assisting in bathing and grooming, performing general site maintenance, monitoring the wellbeing of animals, and providing exceptional care to all animals present. Ideally, applicants should possess a GCSE in English and Maths (grade 4 and above). This role requires communication skills, IT proficiency, attention to detail, organizational abilities, customer care aptitude, problem-solving capabilities, and teamwork. Candidates must be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Westmead Kennels and Cattery, a family-run business, is dedicated to ensuring high-quality care for dogs and cats in a safe, secure, and welcoming setting, accommodating up to 65 dogs and 21 cats. Following this apprenticeship, there are opportunities for progression to the Level 3 Animal Care apprenticeship or full-time employment.
