Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with menu specifications and quality standards
  • Providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations
  • Manage food production processes, including portion control and presentation standards
  • Abide by food safety procedures, maintaining hygiene and cleanliness in compliance with health regulations
  • Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service delivery
  • Work with the head chef and owner in future menu planning, development, and innovation to meet customer preferences
  • Help monitor inventory levels and assist with stock ordering to minimise waste and optimise resources
  • Lead by example in maintaining a positive, professional work environment

Experience

  • A passion for food preparation, cooking techniques, and culinary arts
  • Familiarity with basic food safety standards and regulations
  • Awareness of food production processes and service operations
  • Previous experience in hospitality or serving roles is advantageous but not essential

English and Maths at grade C/4 is desirable

Training you'll get

As part of your apprenticeship, you will attend Exeter College one day per week during term time to work towards your Level 2 Production Chef qualification. You will also receive regular workplace support from a dedicated Skills Officer, who will visit you in your place of work to provide guidance, monitor your progress, and help you develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to successfully complete your apprenticeship
