Partnership Marketing Executive Apprentice

Bango.net Limited · Cambridge

Creative and MediaAdvanced Level 3On-siteProgression
The Digital Vending Machine® is a B2B product that enables subscription bundling. Bundling is when a subscription brand, think Netflix or Disney+, is promoted and sold through a third party. Have you ever started a new mobile contract and had a subscription service, like Spotify, included in the plan? That’s bundling, and there’s a good chance it was the DVM that made it happen. Bundling is often “on us”, with subscriptions included for free, but increasingly subscription brands are using third party channels to sell products and grow their businesses.

The partner marketing activities at Bango are growing at a rapid pace – both in importance and volume of partnerships. The future success of the Bango and the Digital Vending Machine is dependent on our ability to enable more bundling partnerships to go live, quickly. Our partner marketing team are central to this, helping ensure maximum visibility of available partners and smooth running of marketing activities that lead up to new partnerships going live.

As part of the marketing team, you will be responsible for day-to-day communication and marketing account management with our content partners.

We have a program, “pre-stocked”, which invites content providers to agree commercial terms with Bango, enabling their subscription products to be showcased to the market and helping them gain partner traction and subscription bundling launches. This requires liaison and administration, from communicating contracts, collating marketing materials and pricing and co-ordinating partnership opportunities. Bango will then sell these subscription products directly to third parties such as mobile operators, banks and retailers.
This is a role which requires a highly organised and reliable individual, to provide reassurance and timely communications between Bango and partners. You will build a relationship and manage day to day administration, supported by the marketing team.

In time, you will contribute to evolving this partnership marketing program, optimising processes, identifying what works, what doesn’t work, and what could make the content providers, the resellers and Bango more successful. When it comes to bundling, all parties including the subscriber must win, our job is to make that more likely and more frequent, by simplifying and speeding up the process. Your input may also help us evolve our product – it’s an exciting role, essential to our growth.

This role is perfect for someone that is excited at the prospect of working in a marketing environment with important global brands. Someone who is keen to learn, well organised and an excellent communicator. The candidate will be comfortable speaking to senior contacts, driving projects forward, although the nature of the conversation and information being communicated will not require any additional marketing expertise initially, beyond the project details in discussion – for example requests to share logos and marketing materials, updating launch dates and other specific details relating to specific partnerships.
