Level 2 or Level 3 Equine Groom Apprentice - Blossom Hill
Blossom Hill Equestrian · Brookthrope
Blossom Hill operates a 24 stable riding livery situated in Brookthorpe, GL4 0UT, and is currently seeking an Equine Groom apprentice at either Level 2 or Level 3 to join their team. The primary duties will encompass preparing feeds and feeding, getting horses ready for exercise, tacking up and cleaning tack, lunging, turning out and bringing in horses, as well as maintaining stables and fields. For those with the right qualifications, there will be ample riding opportunities, with the additional possibility of participating in shows. All essential training is provided on-site during paid working hours, coupled with regular day-to-day mentoring from your employer. Furthermore, monthly sessions will be conducted through a blend of online and in-person technologies with your assigned Trainer Coach from Haddon Training. Workdays are structured from 8am to 5pm across four weekdays, along with a weekend day that features a split shift from 8am to 11am and 2:30pm to 5:30pm. The duration for Level 2 apprenticeships is estimated to last 12-15 months, while Level 3 apprenticeships vary from 15-18 months. A total of 38 hours of work will be expected each week. Communication skills, the ability to work in a team, physical fitness, and previous equine experience are critical for success in this role. Apprentices have the chance to advance to a further apprenticeship or pursue other educational avenues, and there stands a possibility of transitioning into full-time employment upon completion of their education. Please note that accommodation is not provided on-site, so candidates must ensure reliable transportation to and from the yard. The location is accessible via bus, and livery is an available option for personal horses at the site.
