Eventing and Breeding Equine Groom Apprentice
Team Opposition · Salisbury
Team Opposition is a 5* Eventing and breeding yard based at Landford Stud in Wiltshire, seeking an apprentice to join their friendly team. This is an amazing opportunity for someone looking to start their career in the equine industry, working with top calibre horses and gaining experience that includes grooming at shows. As an apprentice, your general duties will involve preparing for shows, turning out and bringing in horses, cleaning tack, feeding and filling hay nets, clipping, pulling, plaiting, trimming, bathing, rug changing, schooling, riding, first aid, exercising horses from the ground, and holding for vet, farrier, and dentist appointments. If you have not achieved Grade 4/C or above in GCSE Maths and English, you'll receive support from Haddon Training to gain your Functional Skills qualifications. Strong equine experience is a requirement due to the calibre of horses involved. Accommodation is available on site for non-locals, and there’s the option to bring your own horse in livery, with costs to be discussed with the employer. This role offers a non-ridden position or the opportunity to compete and learn from eventers while on the apprenticeship.
