Join our small, fun team at a New Zealand event rider's yard just outside Godalming. We are looking for a fourth member to learn the ropes in a professional international event yard. The successful candidate will undergo comprehensive learning modules to the highest standard, offering ample opportunities to gain experience and training both in the yard and at competitions. General duties include mucking out, turning out and bringing in horses, feeding, watering, tacking up, cleaning tack, and potentially hacking for the right candidate. Having experience in horse care and possibly the ability to bring your own horse is ideal. This role prepares you to achieve your Level 2 Equine Groom apprenticeship while also completing level 1 or 2 maths and/or English Functional Skills qualifications if needed. All training is provided at the employer's location in collaboration with Haddon Training. You will work 5 days out of 7, with the working pattern discussed upon hiring, and may be required to work weekends and bank holidays totaling 40 hours per week. Key skills include attention to detail, organizational skills, customer care, team collaboration, physical fitness, and motivation. This position offers the possibility of progressing to a Level 3 Senior Equine Groom apprenticeship upon completing Level 2. Note that there is no accommodation available, so applicants must ensure they can commute daily.
