Bus Electrician

  • Based at our Ayr Depot, located at Waggon Road, Ayr
  • Salary – Competitive, 39 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm (flexible)

What you’ll be doing:

  • Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults across our fleet of buses and coaches
  • Working on vehicle systems including lighting, wiring, batteries, charging systems, and control units
  • Supporting maintenance and inspection activities to ensure vehicles meet DVSA and Stagecoach safety standards
  • Using diagnostic equipment and software to identify and resolve issues
  • Assisting with the introduction and maintenance of electric and hybrid vehicles
  • Completing all work safely, accurately, and in line with company procedures
  • Collaborating with technicians and workshop teams to keep vehicles road-ready

What we’re looking for:

  • Relevant qualifications in electrical or automotive engineering (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Hands-on experience with vehicle electrical systems (PSV, HGV, automotive, rail, or plant backgrounds welcomed)
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • A proactive, safety-first approach and attention to detail
  • Confidence using modern diagnostic tools and equipment
  • A team player with good communication skills
  • A full UK driving licence
